“26 people were killed in Pahalgam attack – 25 Indians and 1 Nepali. On April 30, CCS meeting decided to halt the Indus Water treaty and sent all the Pakistani citizens back. It was decided that these terrorists and their handlers will be dealt effectively by CRPF, Army and J&K police,” says Mr. Shah. He condemns Congress for objecting to PM Modi’s statement on Pahalgam attack in Bihar.
“On May 9, Army was ordered to reply to Pakistan. 11 airbases were destroyed – Noor Khan Chaklala, Murid, Sugurdha, Rafiqui, Rahim Khan, Jacobabad, Sukur and Bholari were destroyed. Six radar systems and surface-to air weapons were also destroyed. We did not target their air bases and weapons though Pakistan tried to attack our civilian areas. As all their attacking capacities were destroyed, Pakistan had no choice but to surrender,” says Mr. Shah on Operation Sindoor.
“On May 10, Pakistan DGMO called and at 5 PM we stopped the attack. They question why we did not further the attack when we were in such an advantage. Every war has a civilian cost,” says Mr. Shah, citing previous 1951 war, 1971 war. He says that Pakistan occupied Kashmir was given away by Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru and not demanded in the Simla agreement.
