America wants the naked truth about the relationship status of the stars of “The Naked Gun.”

Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson play love interests in the comedy reboot of the classic 1988 film, prompting TODAY’s Craig Melvin to ask if there are some real-life sparks when they appeared on the show July 29.

“What’s the deal here?” Craig asked. “You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?”

“Craig!” Neeson replied incredulously.

“What?” asked an exasperated Anderson. “I don’t understand the question.”

“I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry — as two actors,” Neeson said.

“Yeah,” agreed Anderson.

“It’s like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe,’” Neeson continued. “And that’s what we did.”

“We’re watching the beginning of the breathing of a budding relationship,” Craig said.

“America’s here for it, we’re here for whatever this turns into,” he added.

As the interview wrapped up, Craig once again played up the relationship.

“We want you to come back when it’s official,” he said.

Anderson has been married to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock, Rick Salomon and Dan Hayhurst, whom she separated from in 2022, E! News reported. Neeson was married to Natasha Richardson, who died in 2009 in a skiing accident.

Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr. — the son of Leslie Nielsen’s original “Naked Gun” character — in the new “Naked Gun,” while Anderson plays his love interest, Beth Davenport. The movie opens Aug. 1.
