IPL 2025, LSG vs RCB Highlights: Stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma’s stellar knock powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru with eight balls to spare despite having to chase a target of 228. Jitesh’s unbeaten 85 off 33 balls thus helped RCB finish second on the IPL 2025 league table and thus seal a spot in Qualifier 1. They now face Punjab Kings on Thursday.
Chasing 228 may be a tall order but Virat Kohli and Phil Salt gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru to as strong a start as it gets against Lucknow Super Giants. They then slipped up in the middle over but stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma blew LSG out of the park with an incredible half-century and a devastating stand with Mayank Agarwal. His kncok has brought RCB on the brink of pulling off the mammoth chase with several deliveries to spare.
Kohli and Salt raised RCB’s 50 in just four overs. RCB seemed to be going at a good rate until Will O’Rourke shook them up with wickets off the fifth and sixth balls of the eighth over. Kohli eased his way past 50 shortly after that. However, RCB’s chances of a top-two finish took a further hit when he fell to Avesh Khan on 54 off 30.

RCB are being led by Jitesh Sharma with Rajat Patidar playing as a batting Impact sub, have done well to not let the Lucknow Super Giants dominate the first 10 overs. The equation is straightforward for RCB, they need to beat LSG to secure a spot in the top two, and possibly finish first in the league stage as well. If RCB win, they join PBKS in Qualifier 1, but if LSG pull off an upset, GT will go to Qualifier 1 while RCB have to play the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians.
