What will happen in season 3 of Euphoria?
While details remain under wraps, the most notable difference between season two and three of Euphoria will be a time shift. According to Zendaya, this will be as much for narrative purposes as it will be to avoid falling into the teen-movie trap of having adults play students.
“I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening and I know it’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” she told Entertainment Weekly in late 2024. “It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the kind of adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world.”
Fans have been left to speculate on what Rue, Nate, Cassie, and the others will be like in the future. Previous reports suggested that Levinson had floated the idea of Rue as a private detective, an idea that was reportedly rejected by both HBO and Zendaya. Another suggestion from Zendaya’ that she play a surrogate mother was also rejected.
