
Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday made an unscheduled visit to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) to gather information about the rainfall situation in the state. He held a video conference with collectors of eight districts to review the administration’s preparedness, an official statement said.Patel spoke to collectors of Surendranagar, Patan, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha and Kheda. Quoting the CM, an official statement said that collectors were asked to remain alert, continuously monitor the rainfall situation, ensure the administrative machinery remains vigilant and coordinate with the SEOC to provide timely updates.According to the SEOC, between 6am and 6pm on Sunday, Daskroi taluka of Ahmedabad district received 10 inches of rain, while Nadiad and Mehamdabad talukas of Kheda district received 8 inches each. Among the other talukas that received heavy rain were Matar (7 inches), Vaso, Mahudha,and Kathlal, which received 5 inches of rain, and Umreth taluka, which received four inches. The SEOC said that the state has so far received 58% of its seasonal rainfall.
