The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. While an exact release date hasn’t been announced, the season will consist of eight episodes and is anticipated to be released by the end of the year, according to reports

Netflix unveiled all eight episode titles on November 6, 2024, during Stranger Things Day: The Crawl, The Vanishing Of _____, The Turnbow Trap, Sorcerer, Shock Jock, Escape from Camazotz, The Bridge, The Rightside up. These titles suggest a return to the show’s roots, with nods to earlier episodes and themes.
The main cast returns for the final season, including: Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers
Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler and Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna. Additionally, Linda Hamilton joins the cast in an undisclosed role.
Filming for Season 5 began on January 8, 2024, and wrapped on December 20, 2024. The season is set in November 1987, approximately six months after the events of Season 4. This time jump allows the story to explore the aftermath of the Upside Down’s invasion of Hawkins and the characters’ efforts to rebuild their lives.
The final season has been an emotional journey for the cast. During the table read of the series finale, many cast members were moved to tears.
