VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to begin a stretch of four games in 11 days this week with a pair of matches on deck. First up, the ‘Caps continue their quest for the four-peat as they host Canadian Premier League side Valour FC at BC Place on Wednesday, July 9 in the second leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT.
QUEST TO THE FOUR-PEAT: Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to begin a stretch of four games in 11 days this week with a pair of matches. First up, the ‘Caps are set to host Canadian Premier League side Valour FC at BC Place in the second leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship quarterfinals. The teams drew 2-2 in the first leg back in May, with Sam Adekugbe and Ali Ahmed finding the back of the net. The winner of Wednesday’s tie will move on the semifinals.
‘CAPS TO ALTITUDE: Following their match against Valour, the Blue and White will shift their focus towards a Western Conference clash with Colorado Rapids on Saturday. The match will mark the third of five consecutive road matches in MLS play for the ‘Caps, as they’ll look to build on their 5W-2L-3D away record, which is tied for third-best in the league. Away from home, Vancouver are tied for the fewest goals conceded in the league with just nine, and their +4 goal differential ranks tied for second-best. Saturday’s clash will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with the ‘Caps claiming a 2-0 victory at BC Place back in April.
BRIAN AND SEBA: A pair of 2025 MLS All-Stars are set to rejoin the ‘Caps this week, as midfielder Sebastian Berhalter and forward Brian White return from international duty with the United States at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. Berhalter started five of the team’s six matches at the tournament, tallying two assists, while White made two second-half appearances. In club play, Berhalter has already recorded a career-high 10 goal contributions across all competitions this season. White, meanwhile, leads the ‘Caps with 15 goals in all competitions – just one shy of his total from all of last season. The club’s MLS era leading goalscorer is also two away from reaching 100 career goals for club and country.
